As the Engineering & Asset Management Coordinator for the City of Lacombe, I support municipal engineering functions and lead the advancement of the City’s asset management program. My role includes coordinating asset management plans, maintaining the asset management system, supporting capital project planning, and contributing to long‑term capital planning. I collaborate across departments to improve data quality, processes, and policy development. I also research best practices, oversee data collection initiatives, and prepare reports for leadership and Council. A key part of my work is acting as a change agent to strengthen organizational asset management maturity.

Related Experience

All of my professional experience has been with the municipality I currently serve, where I have contributed to planning and delivering capital projects and supporting municipal engineering functions. I hold a Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) designation and am actively completing my Certified Asset Management Professional (CAMP) certification through the PEMAC program at Northern Lakes College. My experience spans project coordination, technical review, GIS and asset data processes, and cross‑departmental collaboration. These roles have strengthened my understanding of municipal operations, long‑term planning, and the practical realities that shape effective asset management in Alberta communities.

Interest & Vision for IAMA

Successful asset management requires more than data and tools. It requires understanding the humans that shape organizational and local culture. I am motivated to join the IAMA Board because I believe asset management is fundamentally about people. It is about how we work, make decisions, and sustain systems over time. My vision is to help IAMA continue supporting municipalities by emphasizing the people side of asset management and creating spaces for learning, collaboration, and practical growth. I want to contribute to strengthening Alberta’s asset management community through shared knowledge, empathy‑driven leadership, and a focus on sustainable, human‑centered systems.
