Summary of Training Opportunities
ACTIVITY 1: INTRODUCTORY COHORTS
- Focus on the basics of asset management and implementation.
- Intended for small urban and rural communities (population below 10,000) with little or no asset management experience.
- Focus on policy and governance and people and leadership competencies.
- Participant deliverables include:
- Draft AM policy
- Draft AM strategy
- Draft AM team terms of reference
ACTIVITY 2: ADVANCED COHORTS
- Focus on data collection, service level definition, and communicating AM concepts.
- Intended for small urban and rural communities (population below 10,000) with some asset management experience or completion of introductory cohort.
- Focus on data and information and planning and decision-making competencies.
- Participant deliverables include:
- Draft LOS template
- Draft AM communication plan
ACTIVITY 3: ELECTED OFFICIALS WORKSHOPS
- Focus on the basics of asset management from the elected official’s perspective.
- Intended for all municipal elected officials, but especially those with little or no asset management experience.
- Focus on building awareness of the value and importance of AM and its role in good decision-making.
- No specific participant deliverables.
ACTIVITY 4: GROUP LEARNING COMMUNITIES
- Focus on finding solutions to common AM gaps or barriers.
- Intended for small urban and rural communities (population below 10,000) with varying levels of AM experience.
- Focus on self-direction, including identifying themes, sharing challenges and solutions, etc.
- Goal will be for communities to become self-sufficient and exist beyond MAMP program.
